The Murphy Administration today announced the award of $1.4 million in Highway Safety Fund Program grants to 54 municipalities to promote safety along designated Safe Corridor highway segments. “The Highway Safety Fund provides grants to local law enforcement, helping ensure they have the tools they need to keep our roads safe,” NJDOT Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti said. “The funding provides resources necessary for local governments to achieve their safety objectives without burdening local property taxpayers.”

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, in partnership with the Trails Task Force of the New Jersey Geospatial Forum, today announced the release of the first phase of a statewide inventory of public trails in New Jersey. This first-of-its-kind dataset, using information provided by government agencies and nonprofits, will advance the capabilities of the DEP and other government agencies, trail planners, and advocates to improve, expand and better connect the state’s extensive network of trails, improving access for all of New Jersey’s residents.

TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy and Department of Transportation Commissioner Diane Gutierrez Scaccetti today announced $3.8 million in FY 2022 Transit Village grants to help municipalities advance transit-oriented development projects that reduce reliance on vehicles and encourage usage of mass transportation. This year’s grants represent the largest amount of funds provided in a single year for the Transit Village Program. Grants were awarded to 14 municipalities in nine counties.
